Summer Community Activities at Shepherd of the Hills!
National Night Out!
We are hosting another National Night Out (NNO) community potluck gathering this year. Please join us on Tuesday, Aug. 4th from 5:00-7:00 PM or so. Come support our church and neighbors for a great potluck and social gathering. We will feature community updates as well as hear from guests from either the Berkeley FD and/or PD.
See you there!

The Band is Back!!

MELBA’S KITCHEN – the all-women big band celebrating the formidable jazz contributions of Black women musical geniuses Melba Liston and Mary Lou Williams, and their friends, return to the community with a free concert on Friday, August 14th at 7:00pm.
This has always been wonderful and engaging and this year we're hoping to make it even bigger and better with many more neighbors and guests coming.
As you know, MELBA’S KITCHEN rehearses at Shepherd of the Hills every Thursday evening, and is eager to return the warmth and hospitality to the local community by stirring it up in an atmosphere of kindness, joy, political action, and fun!
Please join us for this wonderfully engaging event. We look forward to seeing you!
Community Potlucks
Potlucks in our fellowship hall downstairs will continue this fall. This is a neighborhood-initiated effort really designed to foster more collective time and support together as a community. (Stay tuned as there will be more to come).
It is a wonderful time to:
-
Bring a favorite dish to share
-
Meet neighbors and make new friends
-
Enjoy laughter, connection, and great food.
-
Everyone is welcome at the table!
