Children & Youth
Children and youth are a central part of the life of Shepherd of the Hills. Our life as a vibrant intergenerational community is rooted in our Sunday service, where all ages gather together for worship at 10:00 AM. Children are not only welcome in worship, they are a vital part of our worshipping community!

Children in Service
Children and parents are encouraged to move around, as necessary, to be comfortable in worship. There are a variety of books and activities available for younger children to enjoy during worship. Older children and youth are encouraged to share in the leadership of our services as as lectors, acolytes, and more.

Advent Crafts
We feel blessed to have so many children take part in our community. As part of our Lutheran tradition, children often enter the community through baptism.

Godly Play
As they grow, we offer Sunday School for pre-schoolers through 6th grade, and confirmation for middle school-aged youth. Every Sunday, time is set aside specifically for children

Pumpkin Carving
All through the year, special events are designed with children in mind such as an Easter egg hunt, summer day camp, pumpkin carving in the Fall, and an Advent craft fair. Many children regularly bring their friends to Sunday service and special church events.
